Pound Family Farmstead, Historical Pioneer Farm, Dripping Springs, TX

When you visit the “Dr. Pound Pioneer Farmstead” historic museum, you enter five acres filled with huge oaks—grounds that were cleared 150 years ago to make way for a log cabin for Dr. Pound and his family.

This same log cabin remains there today and is now the centerpiece of the home that became, over the years, a six-room house.

The restoration of the main farmstead home and buildings was completed in May 2003. Hundreds in the community as well as businesses and Foundations contributed funding for this special achievement. The foundation is continuing to make facility improvements, historical preservation projects to add to the authenticity of the farmstead and increased marketing for attracting visitors.

When visiting the Historic Pound Family Farmstead, docents will describe early events and activities and will be available to answer your questions.

You are invited to tour the home and grounds at your leisure.

Friends of the Pound House Foundation,
a 501(c)(3) corporation.
